The Conference on Disarmament met Tuesday under its new president, Mohamed Auajjar of Morocco, and the Secretary-General of the Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (OPANAL).
Auajjar reiterated the importance of globalized security as it is connected with the security of individual countries. He called for negotiations at the conference to resume and said the conference would continue on an informal basis with consultations on draft texts during the previous president’s tenure.
